The rules state that the game was "Produced in co-operation with Stirling Moss and The Motor" and "Illustrated by Lane of The Motor".

'Lane' was George Lane, a versatile and respected artist about whom very little appears to be known. See this page at Motoring Art for other examples of his work.

Bear Alley also have a George Lane page with a list of his known publications and some people who knew him have left comments there.

Rally was reissued by Lagoon in 2011. Sterling Moss' name was removed from the new box which gained a blue border. All the cards have the same backs as the original.

The original game featured here was part of Rex Pitts' personal collection.
